Back School – Details

Our back school, which is supervised by a physical therapist and specially trained spine teacher teaches you the ability to independently and on a long- term basis, achieve the best muscular conditions for your spine, in a short course of 4 x 1 hour private lessons.

rueckenschule1 The back school is an example of preventative health care, but also offers rehabilitation after a spinal injury. Clearly, incorrect and erratic behaviour when sitting, lifting, carrying and bending over will be emphasised. Particularly in the case of individual predisposition, this can lead to back injuries. Our training will replace spine-damaging behaviour and attitudes, and replace this with spine-enhancing behaviour.

Already in the first hour, the patient will see a photo documentary with captions, a back-resilience pamphlet is handed over, so that the curriculum is mediated and never forgotten.

The foundations for today's school programmes stem from Sweden in the 1960s, at that time a correlation of different postures while sitting, standing, lying down and lifting and the load and pressure of the intervertebral discs of the lumbar were demonstrated. In 1969 near Stockholm, the first "back school" was developed, which ultimately spread to the USA and Canada. It has been established for 80 years in Germany.
